As we dive deeper into the new year, I find myself at a crossroads in the Let's Go Burrito journey. With no extra cash to inject into paid advertising, the question becomes: How do we propel our game into the spotlight? Let me take you through the recent endeavours and future plans for Let's Go Burrito.
Late last year, we introduced the "Tis the Season" bonus mini-game, a festive addition designed to lure players with its fun jack-in-the-box obstacles.
While the player surge wasn't astronomical, it did bring in a few extra downloads, boosting our overall numbers to around 130 on both iOS and Android devices, with the majority on iOS.
Admittedly, these figures won't sustain the company, but fear not – I'm not throwing in the towel just yet. Juggling a day job alongside game development allows me to keep the dream alive, and I have exciting plans up my sleeve.
Currently awaiting approval are two new levels: "Classified" and "Windfall." I won't spoil the surprise here, but I promise they're worth the wait. Unfortunately, integrating these levels into the campaign posed a challenge, resulting in the loss of some players' fastest times. I appreciate your understanding, as this hiccup only affects a small portion of our player base.
Now, with no budget to spare, how do we amplify Let's Go Burrito's presence? Here's the game plan:
1. Ramp Up Social Media: After a slow start on socials this year due to other project commitments, I'm back and ready to hit it hard. Consistent posts will be the name of the game as we aim to grow our follower base and keep the community engaged.
2. Press Releases to the Rescue: Sending out press releases to various news sources is a cost-effective way to generate buzz. We're putting Let's Go Burrito in the spotlight and reaching out to gaming communities far and wide.
3. Networking Unleashed: Networking has never been my forte, and imposter syndrome lurks in the background. However, it's time to step out of my comfort zone. Connecting with like-minded individuals, seeking advice, and sharing experiences could be the key to unlocking new opportunities for Let's Go Burrito.
